Soulamp Entertainment was established in 2012. The company is comprised of talented and diverse artist’s. Our main focus is to be creative and engage our fans with music that we feel connects with people’s everyday lives including but not limited to feelings, ambitions and emotions.
Locally and internationally, our producers and artists have worked with established and upcoming artists in the music and multimedia industry.
Over the past years we have been invited to perform at events organised by corporate brands and companies such as Coca Cola, Carlsberg Malawi (now Castel), Airtel Malawi as well as social groupings such as the Rotary club.
Our profile goes beyond just recording music, it includes promoting various brands through production of multimedia products.
We pride ourselves in being a brand that is associated with tangible corporate social responsibility prorgrammes, contributing to sound policies for the greater benefit of arts and communities around the world.
Simbaraishe Nicholas “Phi Ella” Sulamoyo born and raised in the warm heart of Africa, Malawi. Ella has been influenced by various artists such as Tupac, Wu-tang, Nas, Biggie, Common Jay Z but to name a few.
Ella is also a member of The King's Rifles, a duo comprised of him and label mate Kananji. Their latest project "Love and Revolution" was released on 20 May 2019. On a solo tip, his most recent project is Turning Point which was released recently in 2017 on the 20th of July.

The best rapper you've never heard. Kananji, or King Kananji if you nasty, is an 80's baby from Lilongwe. Growing up in a time of political upheaval in a country where Hip Hop was banned, Kananji learnt the value and importance of expression and art from a young age.
Newly signed to SoulAmp, Kananji is ready to assume the throne he has shunned for so long. His reign will be one of lyricism, mental and social revolution and a whole gang of good vibes.

DEE OH DUB
Birth name Yamikani Chigaru. Born and raised in Lilongwe,Malawi. Started rapping at the age of 14 with rap crew Xoft Mobb as well as mentor Oqsis. He later on was under Lilongwe based rap label Militainment under which he released his first mixtape #RMFAO. In 2016, he became affiliated with Blantyre based rap label Soul Amp entertainment, with apearances on SoulAmp's "2016 Decibels in Motion" compilation album.
His most recent album, Proud Soul, was released on November 3rd, 2017. Currently, his next album The Blue Window Behind The Sky is slated for release in early 2022.
Sydney Zulu, known as Sagonjah, is the former lead MC of Blantyre-based hip hop band Concerto Grosso. Sagonjah is widely lauded for his delivery style, complex lyricism and politically aware content - also known as The Chichewa Rap God. He is most noted as a solo artist on Third Eye’s “Mmene Zilili” and “Game Zikwanje”.
Sagonjah released his first album “Poyela” as a solo artist in 2015. His influences are a combination of his upbringing, and musically, Tarick (Young Generations) and the Reggae Legend Evison Matafale
BASSSIK - PRODUCER
Beyani Todd Munthali “Basssik aka Icekapp” was born in Blantyre and raised in Lilongwe, the city he owes his hiphop influence to. As a producer, he is a fan of; the late J Dilla, Pete Rock, Dj Premier, Hi-Tek, Nottz, 9TH Wonder, Khrysis and as a rapper; Soulamp, Method man, The Roots, B.I.G, Common, Jay z but to name a few.
Basssik is accredited with production for artists locally and internationally. He is a former member of the renowned group formed in the late 90’s, Knights of The Round Table (KRT).
Basss is dedicated to promoting hip hop and music in general. His sound is known for its soul gripping baselines and melodies.
THE KING'S RIFLES
The King's Rifles are a Malawian supergroup collective comprised of rappers Phi Ella and King Kananji and accompanied by Bassik on production. Formed in 2018, The King's Rifles (TKR) mix poetic lyricism and melodic soundscapes with a heap of social consciousness and just a touch of the subversive. Their music aims to ignite the hearts, souls, and minds of the new generation of African leaders and thinkers, challenging us all to stand up, make a difference and be the difference.
